The Chamber of Commerce, Park Royal, and the Arts Community sponsored an evening at the Kay Meek Centre November 16th so people could mingle and meet.
[Was told 1:30 minutes (but it turned out allowed 2min; nonetheless mine was under 1:30); here's what I said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good evening, all.
My literature {hold up} and website have my priorities of openness, inclusion, fiscal frugality -- and I've just rushed here from a talk on heritage at the Historical Society mtg.
My newsletter West Van Matters {hold up} chronicles what's been happening at Council as well as the improvements I've encouraged -- even more if on Council -- and I'm happy to answer any questions you have. =
With good will and mutual respect, am sure we can all work together positively and productively for a bright future being kicked off with the new year.
You may be 'speeched' out -- I am -- so thank you for coming and thanks to the organizers: Chamber, Park Royal, and the arts community.
there once was a town by the seaside
that wanted to show all its good side
the Chamber complied
people saw the up side
making Ambleside a symbol of civic pride
at the entrance our Park Royal sits
happy and pleased with how well it fits
smug smile on its face
got parking and space!
-- and just wait till you see our brand new bits
Now some of us fantasize of a new arts facility
there to display citizens' creative ability
found a spot
others said not
so let's all plan to find a place of pure serendipity
 Thank you.
